How Safe is the unit

Modular and Easy for the operation. No toxic reactions.

Is Biogas Inflammable

NO. It is not readily flammable as it contains 40% to 45% Carbon di Oxide.

Odor

Anaerobic digester is “Air-Tight” chamber where food waste degrades or ferments in the absence of air. Hence no odor in the unit.

What happens if generation is more than consumption

Biogas storage balloon is provided to store the biogas to enable the usage as required. Additionally, Biogas flare is provided as a “Safety Measure” for the biogas plant to burn excess biogas.

Composition of Biogas & Energy value in comparison with LPG

Typical Composition of Biogas is

  • - Methane (CH4): 50% to 55%
  • - Carbon di Oxide: 45% to 50%
  • - Hydrogen Sulfide: 500 to 800 ppm
  • - Energy value: 4,700 kcal/Nm3 (approx. 50% of LPG)

Maintenance: General & Specific

General: Regular feeding to Anaerobic Digester which is part of everyday operations. Specific: Nothing major maintenance as there are very minimum rotating items. Regular checks for on electro-mechanical part viz., pumps, motors, blower is required

Manpower Required

2 persons per shift during the feeding time. Feeding can happen twice or thrice a day based on waste generation pattern at property.

Digestate or Slurry Management / disposal

Options:

  • 1. Can be mixed with garden waste to further processing to Organic Manure
  • 2. Readily used in garden as Liquid manure
  • 3. Can be connected to sewer line for disposal

Monitoring: Feed & Output

Feed flow meter and Gas measuring flow meter is provided to capture the feed and gas data. Same shall be connected to IoT module for real time monitoring.

Lifecyle of Plant & Machinery

  • ✓   Digester MoC is MS with Epoxy coating or Glass Lined Steel which has life of 8+ years.
  • ✓   Balloon life period is 5+ years.
  • ✓   Rest rotating items are of 8+ years with regular maintenance activities.
